    High Speed Spindles Technology HP-S 68

    A textile spindle is a device with oscillatory properties which, depending on the speed of rotation due to its unbalanced state, is vibrationally excited.

    The spindle can be described as a spring-mass system with a damping device proportional to rotation speed. The running performance of a spindle is directly influenced by the individual bending stiffness and the damping characteristics of the system.

    For spin-technological reasons a quiet run of the spindle, concentric to the spinning ring and with minimum amplitudes at the top of the spindle, is required.

    All spinning spindles are operated in the hypercritical speed range. The first critical speed is, according to spindle design, between 2,000 and 4,000 rpm. This speed is only relevant during the start of the machine. The occurrence of a second critical speed within the working speed range of the spindle must be avoided at all cost. Apart from other factors, this is achieved by making the spindle upper part sufficiently resistant to bending deflections.

    The HP-S 68 and HP-S 68/3 spindle bearing has been tested in over a million applications and is suitable for even the most demanding operation conditions.
    HP-S 68/3 provides for

    a minimum wharve diameter of 18.5 mm
    good running performance, even in cases of extreme imbalances of the cops
    low energy consumption
    limitation of the spindle speed by the spinning process and not by the spindle bearing
    considerably extended lubrication intervals
    solid execution of the bearing for rough handling in the spinning mill. Deformable, filigree elements are dispensed with
    HP-S 68 and HP-S 68/3 Bearing Insert

    The HP-S 68/3 spindle bearing insert incorporates both the roller neck bearing and the footstep bearing.

    The footstep bearing comprises a radial bearing which functions hydrodynamically and a free-sitting flat disc to absorb the axial forces.

    The defined oscillating characteristics of the flexible tube which accommodates the footstep bearing prevent cross-locking of the neck bearing and the spindle blade in the event of severe radial movements of the spindle upper part occuring. Such a footstep bearing design offers substantial advantages in particular for high speeds and axial loads. It has been proven for decades in different bearing types of SUESSEN-NOVIBRA.
